Update

This is just a quick note to give a big thanks to everyone who participated in the Fall 2009 event, and to remind you that our next event will be held in May of 2010.  This time of year a lot of us are cleaning out our closets or stashing toys in the garage to make room for the exciting things Santa is bringing. We suggest you label a bin or box “PPK Sale”, and set aside those gently-used toys and clothing to sell. Trust us–it will pay off come Spring time when you are recovered from Christmas and ready to shop again. It will be here sooner than you know it (just picture that check coming in the mail)!!

Pickled Peppers Kids Fall Dates and Important Info

If you haven’t heard yet, our Fall event will be held October 5th-10th at the same location as last time.

***LAST MINUTE CHANGE***We will still be on the North side of the building, just a little farther down from our last entrance, at the roll-up door. If you didn’t make it last time, just follow the map and look for the balloons and signs.

Hard to Say Goodbye…

As fall approaches, I feel a little sad about letting go of the cute summer clothes my kids have.  Especially my favorite sundresses.  As I started planning a list of what I needed to look for at the upcoming fall PPK sale, I had an idea.  I don’t have to give up all those cute summer outfits just yet! 

 

One of the favorites

I do live in Utah, so the winter is obviously colder than many places, but this same concept could be adapted pretty much anywhere.  So my shopping list includes: boots, long sleeve shrugs and cardigan style sweaters, pants that can used as leggings, and plain colored long sleeve tees.  Why these items?

 I can pair leggings, boots and a shrug or cardigan with my little girl’s favorite sundress and get some extra wear out of it before she grows out of it!  Long sleeve shirts can go under favorite short sleeve shirts, paired with leggings (or even jeans, for that matter) under cute summer skirts.  Boots and tights can even be paired with capri’s.

 I figure, they are going to grow out of this summer stuff long before next summer anyway, I might as well get a little more use out of them before we have to say goodbye. 

 So I set aside a few favorites from the summer clothes and put away the rest…

I can’t wait to shop and find those perfect pieces to make my plan work!  My 7 year old thinks I’m a genius…she is already so into clothes (to be honest, it’s a little scary) and loves that she doesn’t have to give up her faves, even when it starts to get cold.

One Of My Favorites…

This is one of the many outfits I got at the spring sale for my daughter. She loves it and so do I! I get compliments on the outfits my kids are wearing all the time and usually get to say, “Thanks, I got it at the PPK Consignment Sale!” My girls know that we will be doing the bulk of their school shopping at the fall sale and they can’t wait to what treasures they will find this time.

Exciting Changes in PPK!

Hi, everybody! We are implementing some changes in PPK that will be soon be ready

• First, Consignor registration will be fully automated, and consignors will be able to log into their account to change contact information, register for a new sale, and sign up for volunteer times.
• Second, we are switching to a barcode tagging system that will replace the old system of hand-printed index cards. Consignors will upload information about each item that they are selling, and then print out labels that include a barcode that identifies the consignor AND the item. That way, after the sale consignors will be able to see exactly what sold and for how much. Consignors have been asking about this for years, and we are really excited to offer this improved service.
• Third, we are implementing a consignor drop-off time reservation system, which we hope will make the crazy drop-off days a lot less chaotic.
• Fourth, in the past checks have gone out within two weeks of the end of the sale. This is because we’ve had to manually total the thousands of index cards of items that were sold. With the new system, this time will be greatly reduced, meaning you get your money sooner!

Consignor registration will begin soon, so start getting those onsies and jammies the kids have outgrown ready!

Tagging!!

We are looking at implementing a new tagging system. We will know soon if we can use it or not. Please do NOT start tagging your items yet–we don’t want to make extra work for you by having to do it twice. We will update the taggin info one way or another soon.

I’m enjoying the summer (i.e. the pool), but am excited for our October event!

We are pinning down dates and a location right now. We will be in a commercial space again and are looking at the first week in October.
